Hello!
Hi there.
What is this place?
This is the first, largest
Who are you, then?
I'm
What do you two do, then?
Basically, we make sure this place is running smoothly and are here to answer any questions you may have.
So, how do I join and what do I do once I have?
Make sure you're logged in and go here. Once you're a member, make sure you've read the rules, and introduce yourself if you feel like it.
How do I post to the community?
After you've joined the community, go here, type in whatever you want to say, and choose "lilyandjames" in the drop-down box labeled "Post to" at the top.
What can I post here?
Anything that has to do with Lily and James, basically -- fanfiction, fanart, recommendations, discussion topics, and so on. If you're plugging an off-site link, please include some kind of information about what it is -- "New RPG" or "Multi-chaptered fanfic" as the subject line is enough, but some sort of inkling as to what it is you're advertising is required. Also, remember to tag your entries!
What can I not post here?
Anything that's not directly connected to Lily and James, like plugs for an RPG taking place in Harry's 7th year or the like. SPOILERS for DH without the proper warning (a clearly labeled cut.)
Hey, you deleted my post!
If I did, it was probably because it violated one of the rules. Nothing personal; it's my... well, not job, but modly duty. Kind of.
So, how do I post my stories here?
My recommendation would be something like this:
Title:
Author:
Summary:
Pairing:
Rating:
Warnings:
Anything else you think people need to know, like Author's Notes or stuff like that:
<lj-cut text="Whatever you want the cut to say">
STORY HERE!
</lj-cut>
Any notes you may have after the story.
I won't thwap you if you have your own way of doing it, though, as long as you remember to put everything longer than a drabble behind an LJ-cut.
Just what is an LJ-cut?
This FAQ is placed behind one; it's that shiny link thing which appears on the main journal page, hiding this whole long thing. The code is up in the answer to the previous question, and LiveJournal have a pretty nifty tutorial on how to LJ-cut if you're still confused.
So, what needs to be behind one of those cut things and why?
What:
1) Any stories that are longer than a drabble (100 words).
2) Multiple or large pictures (400x400 px or bigger).
3) Anything that's rated R or above, with a clear warning before the cut.
Why:
1) It's not nice to clutter up people's friends lists with long entries.
2) Out of courtesy for people who use dialup, as well for the sake of people's layouts.
3) There are kids in this community.
Hey, I'm one of those kids you just mentioned...
Yeah?
Can I still be a member?
Sure. Like I said, everything with a rating higher than PG-13 needs to be placed behind a cut/linked to, with a clear warning that it contains adult material. I trust you (or your parents/guardians) to take your personal maturity level into consideration, and not following any links which contain material you may find unsuitable.
Hey, how do you make cool links like that?
Read this.
Can I plug this community at other places?
Go for it. If you feel like making any codes, have fun, and feel free to send them to me!
How come you haven't made any codes?
I'm lazy.
Hey, pretty/ugly/green layout! Who made it?
The layout used is Your Biggest Flan by

Where did the community icon come from?
y cANt i TyPe lyK ThiS LOl?!1?!1!!
Because a) it's very hard to understand, especially for people who are not native English speakers (like me) and b) it's annoying, kthxbai. Grammar, spelling and punctuation are your friends.
Why aren't the comment pages pretty and green?
Because I'm too much of a cheapskate to get a paid account for the community. If you're feeling generous, though...
Hey, you didn't answer my question!
Terribly sorry. Post it in a comment here and I'll do my best.
